Did you know that the norm in Disney World is to celebrate your birthday 6 months before and 6 months after your birthday? So at Disney, even if you go a couple of months after your birthday, get that button!
Disney has multiple buttons you can get if you are celebrating anything, having a birthday, and going on your first visit! Cast members will notice you and your button and will be sure to greet you in a certain way according to your button. Sometimes, but not all the time, magic can happen! I had my button on when we went over to a ride and some people were crowding the cast member to talk to them and ask questions in the stand by line; the fastpass cast member saw my button and saw me waiting there, she waved me over. 🙂
I also ended up receiving birthday cards and cupcakes at some of our table service meals! All-in-all, I had a magical time on the birthday visit. Cast members and characters told me Happy Birthday, while telling Roli Happy Unbirthday!
